Conflict Coaching and Facilitated Discussions
Working with conflict, rather than hiding from it, it can be used to fuel insights and learning and as a foundation for new levels of growth.
In a safe and supportive environment, we work together, with the intention of restoring and rebuilding working relationships, wherever possible.
“Thresholds we must cross are not for the faint of heart or the ill-prepared but are essential for those serious about bringing their new story to life.Thresholds call everything into question, require us to walk through the doorway of unknowing and open us in the end to more than we thought possible.” David Drake
“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and right doing there is a field. I'll meet you there.” Rumi
Conflict Coaching
Conflict coaching supports early resolution or management of conflict and the restoration of working relationships. It is a confidential process that can help you clarify your conflict management goals and develop insight into the dynamics that maintain your conflict. It can be used to work with specific disputes, internal conflicts or for more general patterns of dealing with conflict.
Conflict coaching will support you to:
Focus on the outcomes you hope to achieve.
Explore conflict triggers and dynamics.
Consider the perspective of all parties.
Achieve new insights.
Think through your options.
Decide the best course of action.
Prepare for challenging conversations.
Build essential skills for success.
Facilitated Discussions
A facilitated discussion can transform a potentially difficult or uncomfortable conversation into an opportunity for growth.
Creating the opportunity for both parties to come together and talk through what has been going on with the support of a trained facilitator.
Allowing each of you to share your story in a conversation so you can see how you have each created meaning from the situation or the events that have unfolded.
Being able to express your point of view and the opportunity to hear the other person’s point of view.
Broadening your understanding of each other’s story and of the overall impact of the conflict.
Coming to a new understanding of how to move forward for mutual success.
What happens in a facilitated discussion session?
Sessions are flexible, tailored to your needs and typically they consist of the following steps:
Agreement on how you will work together in the session.
Exploring the desired outcomes from the session.
Sharing perspectives.
Sharing what’s important for both of you.
Contracting for success moving forward.
"Having never had anything like this previously, I was a little uncertain. However 10 minutes into the first session, I felt comfortable and very confident to share my thoughts and feelings around events that had been happening.”
Theresa F, Team Leader -
"Our lives are not dependent on whether or not we have conflict. It is what we do with conflict that makes the difference."
Thomas F. Crum - The Magic of Conflict
"I can't stress enough how much these sessions have benefited me. I am looking forward to working with my team to create a much better and more harmonious work unit to be part of."
