Owen Consulting Services WH&S Policy Statement
At Owen Consulting Services we believe that the well-being of people at work, and the people impacted by our work, is a priority and must be considered during all the work we undertake.
We have a fundamental belief in Ubuntu, or humanness with the understanding that each of us thrives only when all of us thrive, that we are inextricably linked to each other, our families, our community, and our world. This central principle of ubuntu means we also believe that people are our most important asset, and this belief means that work health and safety is of central importance.
Given this significance of work health and safety, we also believe and acknowledge that WH&S is everyone’s responsibility. And that the safety of the public is of equal priority to our own safety and the safety of the people we work with.

Our Intention
The intention of this policy statement is that as far as is reasonably practicable, we work to ensure:
- A safe and incident free workplace.
- WHS is considered in all project planning and the delivery of all our consulting and coaching activities.
- The people we work with are included in the decision-making processes that affect them, through regular communication and consultation.
- We identify and control risks in the workplaces we are working in and delivering services and we actively contribute to and maintain a safe and healthy workplace where there is no harm to anyone at any time.
- We monitor and review risks and eliminate or control potential risks.
- We continue to enhance our knowledge of WH&S through education and training.
Our Commitment
We are committed to:
- A Zero Harm work environment.
- Planning all the consulting, coaching and other workplace activities we undertake with due consideration given to WH&S.
- Assessing risks in an effective manner so they are eliminated or controlled.
- Communicating and consulting with the people we are working with to ensure they are safe, physically and psychologically, and to providing a working environment where people are comfortable to speak up and share their concerns.
- Creating safe and healthy workspaces where people can work, learn and grow. This means that people need to feel safe at two levels: physically, so they feel free of bodily harm; and psychologically where they feel free of concern about being shamed or humiliated, and they are able speak freely without fear of being embarrassed, ignored, blamed or being punished in any way for speaking up with ideas, questions, concerns or for making mistakes.
